Thanks to all the hardworking and dedicated volunteers who make Carnival happen every year in Vernon BC. Here is what is scheduled for Monday, February 7th, 2011:
Arrest the Best
Sponsors: Vernon Dodge Jeep, Okanagan Restoration, Vernon Winter Carnival Society
Time: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Admission: $20.00 an arrest, plus bail money
Arrange to have you BEST friend or BOSS arrested. The jail will arrive at your place of business. Pictures of jail time will be taken upon payment of bail. Your arrested BEST will be released into your custody. Call the Carnival Office to arrange your Arrest 250-545-2236
Free Lessons at Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio
Sponsors: Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: 3401A 30th Ave. Downtown Vernon
Free couples two-step lessons. So much fun your cheeks will hurt. Just show up at the scheduled time ready to have a good time dancing. Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary. They love two left feet.
Broom Ball Tournament
Sponsors: Royal Bank and Downtown Vernon Association
Time: 12:00 Noon
Location: 30th Avenue
The best, most outrageous sporting event is back for another year in Downtown Vernon. Registered teams will participate in an outdoor Broom Ball tournament on 30th Avenue Downtown. Teams compete for an official trophy. Come down and cheer for your favourite team! As I type this I am wondering how sore I will be from playing broomball with Century 21 this week!
51st Annual Shrine Children’s Masquerade Skating Party
Sponsor: Vernon Shrine Club #7
Time : 6:30 – 7:30 pm
Location: Civic Arena
Admission: FREE
This is the annual children’s skating masquerade party. Dress Up. Any costume will do. Free goodie bags for the children. Parents Welcome.
Jam Can Curling
Sponsor: School District #22, Allan Francis, Pringle
Time: 12:25 – 2:15 pm.
Location: Outdoor Rink at the Rec. Centre.
Fun filled event for grades four and five students in School District #22. Fair play, fun, team spirit and meeting new friends is what makes this event so successful.
