Homeopathic Cold and Flu Prevention by Dr. Ray Lendvai our KurSpa Naturopathic Physician

Fall has arrived and the colder weather means cold and flu season is not far away. This is the time of year that the flu shot is heavily promoted. Many people including some health care professionals question the effectiveness of the regular flu vaccination and an increasing number of people object to being injected with this viral cocktail especially when many health care workers are refusing to take it. The purpose of this article is to inform people that there is a safe and effective homeopathic alternative to the regular flu shot.

The homeopathic flu prevention program consists of an injectable antiviral homeopathic medicine followed by 2 oral medicines taken once a week for 5 weeks. The homeopathic flu prevention program is designed for people who are not able to take the regular flu vaccination due to allergies or are looking for a more natural alternative.

The homeopathic flu preparation is administered by injection or can be given orally for children and others that are averse to needles. Once the homeopathic antiviral medicine is given it activates the immune system and provides protection against cold and flu viruses usually for the duration of the season.

Additional suggestions to prevent colds and flu:

  • Take a good quality multivitamin/mineral daily.

  • Drink fresh ginger root tea regularly in the fall and winter. To prepare ginger tea use peeled fresh ginger root grate 1 teaspoon of the root per cup of water and boil the root for ten minutes. You can drink 1-3 cups per day. Ginger is also an excellent circulatory and digestive tonic.

Shuswap and North Okanagan Home Sales Slow.

This week I got together with some local Realtors here in Mexico and was introduced to a Resort Development property nearby where I am statying. More on that in another upcoming post.

Meanwhile - back at home:

A slight decline in transactions reported this week 90 compared to 93 transactions last week. and yet the average sale price was up to $412,562 from$361,679 . This is a result of an increase in sales in the Central Okanagan, and a decrease in other, traditionally less expensive properties in the areas of the North Okanagan and Shuswap sectors. - making Central Okanagan a larger percentage of overall properties sold regionally.

 Look at WHAT sold in order to determine what is really going on in the 3 zones of Okanagan Shuswap Real Estate.

In the Central Okanagan the results bucked the regional downward trend, with 65 sales reported compared to 56 the week prior. Average sale price came in at $472,284 ( more than $200,000 above the average in the North Okanagan and Shuswap regions. Home sales numbers were unchaged at 38 single family dwellings - but the number of Apartments, Land and Manufactured homes sold doubled from the week prior. Total sales volume rose from$22,578639 to $30,698,455

In the North Okanagan, Vernon BC Real Estate Area reported sales volume dropped this week to 16 from 24 last week, and the average sale price reported plummeted to $260,416! The biggest reason for this was the drop in the percentage of single family homes in the mix (almost 2/3 rds less than last week. Total sales value dropped to $4,166,661 from $7,585,000.

Total sales in the Shuswap Revelstoke real estate zone dropped from 13 reported the week prior to 9 this week. Single family homes were the most impacted sector, with 30% fewer sales reported. Average sale price this week came in at $251,722 down from $267,115.

Sales ebb slowly again in Residential MLS

The downward trend of reported sales continued this past week, dropping to 86 from 101 the week prior. Also down this week were the average sale price and the total combined value of all sales. The most expensive property sold was higher, however, coming in at $2,625,000 an increase of over $300,000. 

All data is from the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board database.

In the North Okanagan,$6,354,148 in total sales volume was reported Nov. 5 - 11 in Vernon BC and area residential real estate sales. A total of 21 properties were reported sold last week by Realtors. Average sale price was $302,578. 

$19,379,800 in combined property values were reported as sold in Kelowna BC area residential MLS residential real estate. Realtors reported 54 sales in the Central Okanagan, with the average sale price being $358,885

In the Shuswap Revelstoke zone, total sales volume equalled $2,341,500 last week. Realtors reported a total of 11 residential MLS property sales. Average sale price last week was $212,864
