2013 off to slow start for Okanagan Shuswap Real Estate Sales

The beginning of a new year of statistics begins with our first post recapping the first week of transactions reported Dec. 31 - Jan. 6.

Average sale price across the region rose from $343,610 last week to $360,175 - not surprising seeing the volume of Homes compared to other traditionally less expensive kinds of property transactions.

This puts sales at a slower pace than the first week of 2012 - where 46 sales were reported, with an average sale price of $386,615 and a total sales volume of $17,784,299.

We began 2013 in the historical district... El Centro Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico. The photo above was taken from the balcony of our hotel room.

A slow start to the year in the North Okanagan, with only 3 properties reported as sold between Dec. 31 - Jan. 6. 1 lot, and 2 town homes.

The number of sales reported for the week of Dec. 31 - Jan. 6 was up from the week prior with a total of 28 sales reported. Average sale price was $391,368 with the days to sell averaging 124.

The Shuswap zone sales were up this week as well, with 5 home sales reported. Average sale price was $288,700 and average days to sell 179.
