Corny as this may sound.. I have been tagged... I network, dream-spin and chat with a group of the most forward thinking tech savvy people in the Century 21 family. We have, for the most part, never met face to face - and don't know each other. Somewhere down the line someone came up with the realization.. that... most of the people reading our blogs don't know us either... and thus the gauntlet was tossed.. to post 7 things about ourselves so .. here goes an introduction to Brell the Blogger:

Brell the Blogger was destined to eventually find her way into Real Estate for many reasons. My Dad was in the Canadian Military - so we moved a lot. In fact I thought everybody moved in June.. Every YEAR. By the time I was 8 we had lived in 7 locations in Canada. ( No commissions were paid out in most of those moves as we lived on the base- full disclosure.) I was aghast to find that my grade 3 class at West Vernon Elementary had lived in Vernon, BC their WHOLE LIVES!!! Shortly thereafter, we bought an orchard in Lavington ( that agent may still be in business...lol) and moved again!
I wrote my first Real Estate ad in 1977. It ran in the Lumby Logger newspapers, and generated calls. It was for a large, centrally located building, with hardwood floors, partial carpet, a solarium, large yard... etc.. and it was .... the Charles Bloom Secondary School - which I was about to graduate from. For reasons that will not be disclosed, we did not post the "borrowed" real estate signs in the field on the day the ad ran. To my knowledge no one ever knew who placed the ad. However.. on the issue of the signs.. socks have been disappearing from my dryer ever since which could be penance. Interesting to note that of the graduating class of 44 people - at least 3 of us are in the real estate business. ( 2 in Vancouver - so if you want to move to or from there - let me know and I will hook you up)

Upon returning to Canada from a recent vacation, my answer to Canada Customs "Do you have anything to declare?" was... 36 Lime Squeezers and a little Mexican pussy... We added to our family... after rescuing a kitten while on vacation. The Lime squeezers.. do business with me and you'll find out! I am now learning Spanish so Matisse the Cat and I can communicate.

I named my website okanaganheat.com because the standard real estate terms were taken, and I wanted something I could brand around that had a connection to the okanagan and my life. (Okanagan Sun was also taken by our football team. Okanagan Heat and the pepper logos come from the hobby my partner Patrick has - of growing chillies. I love the colors, the shapes and the intensity of them as well. We like to cook and use them fresh, frozen, dried and smoked - making our own Chipotle. The Jalapenos in the logo are derived from a photo I took of ones we grew. Isn't photoshop amazing?
From the chiili beginning, things have heated up... my car - a jetta diesel for fuel efficiency...has a colour defined by Volkswagen as "Spicy Red" and from that I became the "Spicy Red Grammie" to my cherished grandsons, Logan and Brandon. Well - Logan calls me "Spicy Red" Brandon just grins so far. I am entirely smitten.
I don't Cold Call. Even before the Do Not Call List - which.. I am on and thankful for.
On Personality profiles - the ones with the four quadrants...I score almost equally in each with variations in the dominant one depending on what has been going on in my life and the lives of those around me.
