Last summer I had an absolute BLAST at the Rarearth Jazz and Blues Fest – and was totally blown away by the quality of the kids that were on hand to represent from the first ever “Our Kids Have Talent” – Check out the videos on our YouTube channel. Today I got this email from the organizers – and want to share the word with you... If you know some up and coming young musical talent – Please pass this information along to them and encourage them to join in:
We, at the Rarearth Jazz and Blues Fest and 107.5 Kiss FM, can't tell you how excited we are to be able to bring 'Our Kids Have Talent' back for its second year; we want you to be the first to receive a poster (attached - coffee rooms are great) and application & information about the competition (attached) - please print ... post if you can, and spread the word - January 5th, 2010 is the submissions deadline! ... those getting their Applications in first will have their choice of time slots for their auditions.
Last year can only be described as 'beyond amazing' and with the amount of excitement surrounding this event; 2010 looks to be even bigger yet. Many of our auditioners, top ten and our top three winners JAMES & the COUNTRY GENTLEMEN, RAQUEL WARCHOL, and LUCY & the LUCKY FOUR went onto play at a number of gigs throughout the year, including the Rarearth Jazz and Blues Fest where they were 'featured' on Stage Right with 60 other acts from Our Kids Have Talent. James & the Country Gentlemen, as our first place winner, had the very rare privilege to play on the same stage as blues legend and the festival's headliner, MR. BUDDY GUY - You Tube - 'Rarearth 2009'. Lucy and the Lucky 4 WON the talent competition at the Armstrong IPE as did our beautiful Mica Lemiski who placed 2nd.

Please support our musical children - help them get their applications in early, support their auditions, and enjoy the finale' March 20th, 2010. Tickets will be available at the Vernon Rec Centre - 3310 - 37th Avenue - other locations TBA. Sponsors are always welcome, businesses and any of you who would just like to help out, we'd love to have you on board. Every year Our Kids Have Talent will take proceeds raised to support a musical talent 'in need'; we were very proud to extend our hand to Miss Meeka Rowat who was the recipient of our cash award last year.
